The Texas Legislature is the state legislature of Texas. It is made up of two parts: the Texas House of Representatives (lower house) and the Texas Senate (upper house). The House has 150 members and the Senate has 31 members. The legislature meets at the Texas State Capitol in Austin, Texas.[1]

Both houses are currently[when?] controlled by the Republican Party, with Dan Patrick as President of the Senate and Dennis Bonnen as Speaker of the House. Both are Republicans.[2][3]
